Games+.
Games+ Arcade inside RCTI+: casual HTML5 games with coins, leaderboards, competitions, and prizes to redeem.
About the project.
Games+ is the casual gaming portal inside RCTI+, where users play HTML5 games, compete on leaderboards, and redeem prizes. I worked on the web app that ties it together: the game catalogue, a wallet of coins, premium tickets and points, event competitions with live rankings, the prize shop, and coin top-ups.
Challenges & decisions.
The loop
Games+ Arcade turns casual HTML5 games into a loyalty loop for RCTI+ users: play to earn tickets and points, climb event leaderboards, and redeem them for vouchers and experiences.
One shell, many games
The portal is a React web app that runs inside the RCTI+ platform and its native apps through a webview. It hosts many third-party and in-house HTML5 games, so the shell around them (wallet, leaderboards, events) has to stay fast and consistent whichever game is open.
What's inside
Game catalogue with search, new releases, and recently played games.
A wallet of coins, premium tickets, and Games+ points, with coin history.
Time-boxed competitions with per-game and event leaderboards.
Prize shop for redeeming tickets into vouchers and meet-and-greets.
Coin packs with bonus coins, plus referral and redemption codes.
Game details with screenshots and like or dislike reviews.
The hard parts
Keeping balances and rankings accurate across many games and events.
Embedding HTML5 games and ads without slowing down the surrounding app.
Running seasonal events and flash sales without shipping a new app version.
What I built
I built and maintained the Games+ web app: the catalogue, wallet, leaderboard, and prize flows, event tracking, and the webview integration with the native Android and iOS apps.
Built with.
A look inside.
