Playfest.
Narasi's annual festival, moved online in 2020 as an interactive WebGL event site.
About the project.
Playfest is Narasi's annual festival; in 2020 the pandemic moved it fully online. I led the Nuxt.js build, integrating WebGL interactive experiences into a content-heavy site and keeping it stable under live-session traffic spikes on a fixed event date.
Challenges & decisions.
The brief
A large-scale interactive web platform built to support Narasi’s Virtual Playfest, an online event featuring live content and interactive experiences for a broad audience.
The constraints
The platform needed to support high concurrent traffic during live sessions while delivering interactive content through WebGL, all within a fixed and non-negotiable event timeline.
What made it hard
High traffic spikes during live event windows
Integration of WebGL content into a content-heavy web platform
Strict delivery deadlines aligned with the event schedule
How I delivered
Developed core frontend features for event navigation and content presentation
Integrated WebGL components while maintaining performance and stability
Optimized asset loading and resource management to reduce initial load time
Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams under tight deadlines
Event day
Successfully supported high concurrent traffic during peak event sessions
Reduced initial page load time by approximately 35%
Delivered a stable and engaging interactive experience throughout the event
Achieved zero critical frontend incidents during the live event period
