Bibit App.
Indonesia's leading mutual fund app: goal-based portfolios, mutual funds, government bonds, and stocks for millions of retail investors.
About the project.
Bibit helps first-time investors grow their money with robo-advised mutual fund portfolios. Users invest by goal, compare funds by risk and return, buy government bonds, set up recurring investments (SIP), and even save together in shared portfolios, all from one app.
Challenges & decisions.
The product
Bibit is a mutual fund app built for beginners: it recommends a portfolio from a short risk quiz and makes investing a few taps away, from money market funds to government bonds and stocks.
Money on every screen
The app is built with React and serves millions of retail investors, so every screen that shows money (portfolio value, returns, NAV, and transaction status) has to be accurate, fast, and easy to read for people new to investing.
What's inside
Home with total portfolio value, returns, RDN balance, and quick actions.
Goal-based portfolios with asset allocation across fund types.
Mutual fund details with NAV and AUM charts over different periods.
Government bonds (SBN Retail and FR) with yield, quota, and maturity.
Shared portfolios for saving towards a goal with someone else.
Transaction history and recurring investments (SIP).
The hard parts
Presenting financial data clearly to first-time investors.
Keeping charts and long fund lists fast on low-end phones.
Reflecting order and settlement status accurately across products.
My part
As Lead Frontend Engineer at Bibit, I worked on the investor-facing app alongside the backoffice: building product and portfolio screens, keeping the component library consistent, and reviewing the team's changes.
